Handels Messiah for 4

Isn't the Messiah really great music!?

We thought so, but also that it deserves more swing,  dynamic flexibility and playfulness than you normally hear it with a huge ensemble. So we spent some years developing a version for only 4 people.

The result is an hour of compact, energetic joy with lots of humour and love.

Soprano: Rowan Pierce

Violin/Countertenor: Per Buhre

Cello: Judith Maria Blomsterberg

Baroque guitar: Fredrik Bock

The program is about 70 minutes and is played with or without intermission. It has been played in concert halls, churches and even small cafe stages and bars. Preferably with good acoustics.

New version with the coolest soprano we know,  Rowan Pierce!

Rowan Pierce was awarded the President’s Award by HRH Prince of Wales at the Royal College of Music in 2017.  She won both the Song Prize and First Prize at the inaugural Grange Festival International Singing Competition in 2017, the first Schubert Society Singer Prize in 2014 and the Van Someren Godfery Prize at the RCM. She was a Britten Pears young artist, a Rising Star of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and a Harewood Artist at English National Opera. Nominated for The Time Sky Arts Award for opera in 2020, she made her Covent Garden debut in 2023 and her Glyndebourne debut in 2022.
